Large Scale Central

New 1/29th scale steam crane project from THE GAL LINE

Craig

The glad hands are 1/24th scale Hartford I had laying around. The hose though, are 2 pieces of heat shrink tubing (one over the other). The tubing that came in the package was way too large and did not fit the castings. The coupler pocket is from Kadee (I supply them with the project) and the coupler is a modified 1/32 scale Accucraft. I prefer the Accucraft because they work with the cut bar.

I am very pleased with the Tichy rivets, the best that I have found. The fact that I did not have to glue them in was a gigantic bonus.

Allen, Are you offering the clam bucket as a extra or separate item? It would make a excellent detail for my mow train. Todd

Thanks Alan,

I was hoping that you starting laser cutting glad hands in 1/29…

Craig

I do not think that laser cutting could do a part like a glad hand justice. I would suggest talking to Geoff at Old Iron Designs.

I’ve suggested it to him (various threads on LSC) but he doesn’t seem to think there is a market for them. :frowning: Nice work on the crane. It looks great.

Here are a couple of shots with the long boom and clamshell bucket.
