Found this 44 tonner outside a Transfer Company.
In between the buildings, grown over with trees, more surprises.

Cool. Nice find.
Hate to see deserted 'boosies, me. I’d love the chance to have one of my own to maybe live in…sigh.
I know that mrs tac would often like to see me and ig livin’ in a boosie somewhere…

nice find Ralph. I like the inside pics
Ditto to all !
Cool find, especially that old critter! Too bad they’re just letting 'em rot.
What’s sitting on the deck of that 44-tonner in the second photo? A generator?
Ray,
It is a generator. My guess it was used to charge the batteries. I talked to the grandson of the company founder.
He told me at one time they used to switch out 500 cars a month. His late Grandfather was responsible for collecting the cars.
It is a shame they are rotting away, but at least they haven’t been scrapped.

Nice find. I would love to have a caboose in my yard. I would convert it into a lounge or something. Make it rustic inside with wood etc… Give it a lodge look inside. Would be great place to read and relaxe with the stove going on a cold snowy day.
