Large Scale Central

Needed: Bachmann 4-6-0 cap stack

I need the cap off of a Bachmann 4-6-0 smokestack. If anyone’s got one they’d like to donate to a good cause, I’d love to put it to use. EBT #3 needs a proper hat.

Got one off an ETWNC if I can find it  Coming down in October ?

Yes, I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday.

Hi Kevin

I’ve got a spare too if Jon can’t find his. Came off a christmas Annie that is now my exRGS No.20. Just let me know your address and I’ll mail it over the pond.

Cheers
Tony

Cool. I’ll look for it and plan to bring it along. If you need it sooner I could mail it.

Don’t need it sooner. In fact, if you can somehow figure out a way to insert an extra week or two between now and the Reunion, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Tony, if Jon’s workshop is anything like mine when it comes to locating small bits that I “just saw yesterday,” I’ll take you up on your offer. I’ll let you know.

Well I found it, right where I expected it to be in an organizer drawer labeled Bachman 4-6-0  Now I just need to remember to bring it. I think the best plan is to put it in my car now.

Cool. Step 2: Don’t decide at the last minute to take the other car. (Not that I’ve ever done that. Purely hypothetical.)

Or forget to take it out of the car! And
i’ve never done that either!

That won’t happen. We’re bringing the camper and the other car can’t pull it  I just need to remember to put it in the car. Right now it’s on my dresser. I look at it every morning.

I wish I was set up to camp right at the RR, but I’m dependent upon hook-ups :frowning:

True - but you need more than one 12V battery for a 4 night stay in cool weather. I NEED my furnace :D Someday I'll convert to 2 6V Golf Cart batteries and pick up a generator to charge them, but for now I'm both cash and weight challenged so we can't do it.

thread Hijack!

I Miss my camper!!!

we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread…

Yeah… at that campground for the Spectacular, you want the heater. Learned that lesson. Fortunately we’ve got friends who live up Shade Valley a bit (up towards the end of the old iron ore spur) who provide us a significantly warmer location to hang our hats now.

Hey Kevin -

The stack cap made it out to the car this morning, so it should arrive in Rockhill Furnace on Friday afternoon. We are meeting Saturday at 10 AM by the bay window at the station. I’ll try and remember to have it in my pocket then if you can make it  Otherwise email me and I’ll give you my cell number.

My plan is to be up there sometime Saturday around 11 or noon, probably stopping by the Lion’s Hall first to register for the reunion, then to the railroad. I e-mailed you my cell#, so let me know if you don’t get that e-mail.

Later,

K

Connection made, stack cap delivered. Looking forward to the finished product
