You can use fishing weights in a bag. They are easy to get walmart.
I used .50 cal. lead musket balls.
They may find my powder and rifle, but they won’t find my bullets
Probably not economical, but it was what I had on hand.

I have batteries in my tenders. Plenty of weight.

Automotive wheel balance stick on weights are available in 1/4 in 1/2 ounce versions and can be found at auto parts stores. They can be stuck just about anywhere.
I agree with David, handy items!

Tim,
To keep them from rattling around (fishing weight, etc) use a dab of silicone caulk. It’s re-movable for you batteries later.
Thanks all fot he suggestions. I got a small bag of fishing weights at the sporting goods store and that did the trick for the tender. I also stuck two 6 inch bolts plus washer and nut in each of the trailing cars and 3 in the caboose. That did the trick!
Timmy, if you haven’t already done so, you might consider metal wheels. They add weight where it is needed and improve operation.
Already tried metal wheels. However because of the reverse loop on either end of the mainline, I kept blowing fuses. So, there are only metal wheels on the loco of course and the tender.

I am not worried about metal wheels. All works great as is. Now that I have added weight all works even better.
