Need some advice

I too am not sure on the prices either John but there should be a market for the archbar trucks especially for us NG types.

Hey Randy I don’t hear from ya much anymore. Any progress on the RR. You have been slacking with your posts.

The Delton archbars were specified for several building projects in the past, as they are pretty accurate for 1:20 old-style freight cars. I think.

John,

It’s a great question - age old. They are only worth what someone else will pay.

I had a bunch of the Aristo-Delton Archbars with 24" Sierra Valley Wheels. - sold them all VERY quickly at $20 a pair at the last ECLSTS. I might have been able to get $25…or maybe even more, but how do you know?

They are good trucks.

OK I am coming in on this one late due to computttter problems…How many sets (axles) do you have of the 7/8ths wheels.

Thanks

John,
What is the status on the wheel sets? Last I heard from you, you were down with a summer cold. I am recovering from a stomach virus. Isn’t summer grand? I like spring and fall best

If I were in the market I’d snatch them up very quickly at $20.00. At $25.00 I’d hem and haw and probably let someone faster or a bigger spender have them.
I look at the wheels as $20.00 a set, so then the frames would be tossed in and I’d think of that as a bargain.
But I have lots of plain old cheapo plastic sideframes/wheelless trucks on hand. I only consider them as being worth maybe $5.00 a pair.
Not having the drawbars does reduce their value to me somewhat as I personally use truck mounts on my cars because of tight curves.
Hope this helps.

The last batch I got…Delton’s with coupler tangs cut off…were given to me as they had no value.
Back when you could do it, I would fix the ones that had been whacked by obtaining new “T” sections.
The GR wheels…I wouldn’t give you anything for them. We keep a set here to show folks how badly they track. Sierra Valleys are worth something…but not “new” prices.
Hopefully you can find someone who uses body mounts that the whacked state does not matter.

I totally agree JB, some people just don’t know when to “SHUT UP” or maybe they just like to hear themself talk. Either way it’s getting old.

Thanks for nuthin, John, you remind me of some other low-lifes I’ve tried to do business with in the past. You did more work cleaning and sorting than it would have taken to put them in a box and take it to your local Post Office. I’m sure you didn’t get anything near what I was willing to pay for them. Oh well, it’s your loss.

Wow I hope your joking… its a good thing you only have 9 posts. How old are you? because you act like my 5year old. How bout we send the wambulance out to you. What is wrong with you people… Sorry john have to stick up for you. You have been great over the years to me… Ben Ill send you a box of tissues… If I were John I would have given them away before I sold them to you.

Egads…what is the postage to Ogdensburg NY…I’m interested and would appreciate them greatly…I’m all body mount…

With comments like that I’m sure Mr. Ben Hancock will become our next “Deleted Member” and good ridens. John is one of the nicest guys with a heart of gold when it comes to selling or giving things away to fellow train guys. I know because I have been the recipient of his generousity in the 19 years that we have been friends.

Boy, I’m totally confused, but if someone’s looking to get rid of Delton trucks (with or without wheels), let me know. My “Jr. Engineer” managed to drop one of my hopper cars this afternoon breaking a truck, and I discovered my “spare” box is now devoid of Delton sideframes.

Later,

K
