Need some advice and a good source for G Scale train setup

I’ve posted in another forum here at LSC about a problem that I’ve had with a G scale setup. Now I’m taking a slightly different approach.

Our customer (we built homes), wanted a suspended train in his young childs bedroom. Our designer worked with the local train shop while we worked with an on-line company to provide us with great suspended trestles. We created a really neat suspended set-up for G scale trains. Just a nice single track going around his bedroom.

We ended up with some LGB trains and a Lionel power house and wireless controller. While it worked, it fell short in that the train had no sound and the lionel gear could only control start/stop and speed. The customer wanted to be able to blow a wishtle and bell.

Since we do just about anything for our customers I’ve got to solve this problem even if it means swapping everything out. I’ve come to find out our engine LGB 25196 (LGB Mogul Stm Loco D&S #376) has no sound and the Lionel controller wouldn’t be able to do these functions even if it did.

Can anyone recommend a good contact for LGB (G) scale trains and accesories? I’ve gotten some really great suggestions on how to solve my problem, but I need expertiece and someone who can provide us with a workable solution. My local guy is mostly Lionel so he hasn’t come up with much to solve our problem.

Thanks.

Fred contact Axel at www.train-li-usa.com He will be able to help you.

I sent Axel and email several days ago with no response. I just went to the website and filled out the on-line form. Hopefully they will reply. Thanks for the info.

Fred,

I suggest you get in touch with http://www.onlytrains.com/ ; they have what you’re looking for. AND they have extremely prompt service

May I suggest Del Tapparro at www.gscalegraphics.net ? He has a line of controllers that might just be what you are looking for.

Right on advice, Randy! Oops! While I was writing or reading here, two other fellas posted other names for you… Well, I only know Axel myself, and in the not very distant past he has been very eager and very helpful with this techie little black box stuff.

I hope one or the other of these contacts works out for you.

Axel has always been pretty active on the Yahoo group, LGB Family Trains, BTW. This group seems to specialize in LGB tech advice.
