Need GP9 frame

Picked up a Pennsy USA GP9 cheap but it needs a new frame. Not getting much help from USA. Does anyone have a spare frame to sell. I can paint if not in Pennsy colors.

Did you try USA trains to see if they have it? Sorry if you already tried that.

I sent them two emails in the past two three weeks and talked on the phone about a month ago, nothing.

Louis

I’m not understanding? If it has a broken frame?

Just a heads up, if you only bought the shell, it's probably cheaper to buy a whole new engine from what I've experienced.  The power trucks and all of the detail parts will add up quickly.

Just a thought...

I've made several excellent locomotives using little more than a length of 1/8in x 1in bar stock as a frame.  I simply drilled holes in the brass or aluminum where I wanted the trucks to go, and then screwed them in place.  The USA trucks are very easy to mount.  Even thin plywood or lexan could be used succesfully as a functional frame.  If you have the original frame perhaps you could keep the detailed sections and replace the structural bits with my solution.

Don’t know, but it looks like an awful lot of detail in the no slip walkways alone to just slap a flat piece under it and then add the details.

Just IMHO

The shell is in good condition, no damage. It runs very good. The problem is the previous owners cut the steps off all for corners and broke off most of the detail parts. I have all new parts except the frame.
