I bought one of the USTrains ore cars…they took the old Lionel one and made it worse…I hate to say it, but the best ones, out-of-the-box, were the LGB ones…all they needed was a good application of Kadee 820’s, and they were quite acceptable…besides repainting and relettering.

This reissue of the Lionel ones, is a piece of crap…sits too high on the trucks, and is a bitch to improve…it can be done…first you get rid of the trucks it comes with…then you cut off the addition they have put on the bolster…that is the start…

I agree, Fred.
My ore car train consists of all LGB cars.
They just need a repaint.

RRS has the LGB ore cars in stock and on sale again.

I bought 2 of the USAT ones, and was likewise disappointed, too much work to add Kadees, sits way too high, and they glued in spacers on the bolsters why? The worst part is the trucks are on the wrong place, too far inwards, and they shortened the chute.

Really an abortion in my opinon.
