André - wouldn’t it be easier to give Cliff a call down there and ask if he has any ‘unfixables’?
Just sayin’.

Tac,
That sort of stuff is no longer available. He’s been wiped out of parts by many people asking for just that.
Ah.
Right.
Would Roundhouse ‘Billy’ chassis not do for ya?
tac in yUK
Tac,
That would do as well. But if I could get just a chassis from RH it would be the Fowker!
Andre`
In that case, the ‘Lady Anne’ chassis - an 0-6-0 - might do the job?
tac
Yessir…do you happen to have one available?
I know where there are a couple here in yUK.
Or were, last week.
I’ve just emole him to see if he still has them.
tac
Sorry, André - he just let me know that he only had the one, and it was sold saturday.
Back to the drawing board, eh?
Wojja trying to buld, BTW - a free-lance model of some kind?

nuts…
yes, a free-lance model
THIS little movie on YouTube might give you a few ideas - it’s the VERY first Beyer-Garratt ever built - for use in Tasmania - and now back in Wales on the Welsh Highland Railway, with a string of ex-Sandstone/ACR cars as well…

It is some hauler, as you can plainly see…

Great video TAC…noticed the front cyls were at the back of the drivers rather than forward of them as most I have seen. Any mechanical or tractive reason for doing so or for that matter changing them to point forward?
Andre`
That way the cylinder steam feed pipes were nearer the cylinders, unlike the follow-on Garratts. The Kitson Mallets were the same - pointing inwards.
tac
Andre’, i hope you get the parts you need. The Garratt has always been my favorite. I built one using Bachmann Mining locomotives, but Live Steam will be the ULTIMATE in bashing. Please keep us informed. Thank You nick jr
Makes sense Tac. I shall remember that when it comes to plumbing the Garratt.
Andre`
What a great video TAC. I think I just added getting to Wales to my bucket list!
Jon, mrs tac and I would be pleased an honoured to take you riding the ‘Little Trains of Wales’ and sharing the rain and gloom with you.
And then, in the afternoon, you could go to Paris or Stockholm.

Funny you should say that. I was showing Marilyn where Wales was in relation to London. I mentioned that Paris is not very far away. She said sure it is. Then I showed her the scale legend for the map.
We are used to traveling hundreds of miles here in the US to get anywhere. Europe is so much more compact.
I still think I could spend more than a morning taking pictures in the Welsh Highlands though.
Most visitors spend around a week - there are about fifteen railways, y’know. Happily we live nowhere near London and there is a spare box to sleep in here if you need it.
Bring your own matches, though, and dried egg if you have some to spare.
tac
PS - it’s cheaper to fly across the USA than it is to get from London to ‘gay Paree’.
