Living in Nebraska and surrounded by corn fields I could not resist this MTH boxcar. Sure it’s ugly, but makes me smile! I have a MTH Big Boy on the way also.
Neat Car Jerry…
Just wondering why they didn’t use a Reefer instead of a box car… All of the Produce truck hulling I did yr’s. ago of Corn on the cob had to be Iced down or in a Reefer Van for any distance.
Must be hulling can goods? lol…
Neat car tho Very colorful and will look good behind a BigBoy…
Where did you find the MTH Big Boy?
Mike’s Hobby Shop in Texas. They have quite an inventory of MTH stuff.
281-577-8250 I think I got the last Big Boy though.
Just got it off the porch, has condensation from the 8 degree temps outside

Was this a new or used item?
Just curious because it was not on the list of inventoried items they had sent me last year when I ordered a bunch of MTH stuff from them.
Those MTH cars are pretty nice. I have only one UP box car and it has stainless wheels. Yours also looks like it has stainless wheels. These are 1:32, right? My UP car is just a tad smaller than the big Aristo steel box cars I have. They are nicely done thought. I like them.
Nice looking billboard car… Lots of those where around on the RR in the 30s. Later RJD
This came across my feed today… from the Met Museum in NY
Finally something I can prototype (when in season)!
