Amtrak is sponsoring the first National Train Day and it’s set for Saturday, May 10th. There will be events at the big stations in NYC, DC, Chicago and LA (and maybe a chance to meet not-so-fat Al Roker). More info at - http://www.nationaltrainday.com/ .
We (the club) was just contacted by Amtrak’s promotional firm to see if we would be interested in setting up a display at the DC Union Station event. Kind of last minute since the club has a display planned for the next weekend at the Great Brunswick Train Show. There are also many hoops to jump through as the insurance requirements are rather high to display in the main entertainment hall. I’m seeing if I can cover the club under my business insurance… One way or another we’ll do something.
