These pictures with green grass were taken last year, but I post them now because I didn’t know how to post pictures then, and besides, the crowd reaction to our layout was just as enthusiastic. But the turnout was even greater this year - about 250-300 parents and kids showed up to ride Amtrak down to Carpinteria (20 miles away) and back in about an hour and a half over all. Before the event last year and this year, we set up a large scale layout on the lush grass and the kids loved it as you can see in these pictures.
You ask where are all the 250-300 people in this picture? They are riding Amtrak down and back to Carpinteria.

THIS YEAR we are in the midst of a serious drought, so the grass is drying up, and this year I took these three images with my quadcopter from about 20’ I wasn’t comfortable flying my bird with so many people beneath it, so I waited until they were riding down and back to Carpinteria again.
