Name change for Train-Li-USA

I just found this out that Train-LI-USA is new …" Train-Line-USA "
https://www.train-li-usa.com/
I do believe the only change is the name!
( Axle will never change!)
I wish them all the luck, great people!
Sean

Sean,

Hopefully as you said thats the only change. Axle,Joanne and Dan are great people and I wish them all success.

P.S. Don’t forget camera for modular show as I’m very interested.

Yes dear!!!

The former “Train-Li-USA” was based on http://www.train.li (Stefan Flück, producer of the railbender etc.).

“Train-Line-USA” is more along the line of http://www.train-line45.de (producers of the track and rolling stock).

Hmmm German sites are a little tuff!

Doesn’t matter, just an indication where certain company names stem from.

This is really kool, from the Trian-Li page

Technology has been around for years, I’m surprised some of the experts didn’t know that ???

http://www.unionvilledepot.com/ Well not really surprised.

Emotions boys Emotions.

There are tons of things on the market that i’m not aware of, because i’m not looking around for stuff like this normally, Unlike some I do not pretend to know everything

Hopefully someday Bob will get sick of your crap Nick and see you have little to add to this site other then drama

Mark,

Some of us in the MRR hobby/industry are interested in just about anything that comes along, in any of the different scales. From what the smart guys develop to what the turkeys bungle.

It’s taken me 6 years to decide on where to put track down, I have a couple hundred feet of track that I can’t decide what to do with yet. I have not even begun to worry about engines, rolling stock, buildings, let alone laser equiped couplers.

Interesting idea, but still years before i’d even consider adding details like that

Your really the only Drama Queen as of late, I unlike you only post the facts as I have most of the

product and dont do speculation. If your unhappy as usual don’t respond. I usually ignore your posts anyways cause there’s nothing of value in them for the hobby to me.

Unlike some people on various forums, I don’t get emotional just the facts.

So is there a site in English?

Yes…But you MUST have your PAPERS in order!

Strictly my opinion though as always

I always thought it was funny that the name of this German company sounded Asian.

Mr. Flück (Train.li) is Swiss, he just has the website under the *.li (Lichtenstein), probably less expensive than the *.ch when he launched it.

Fifty odd years ago, AMT (remember AMT plastic kits), had a line of digital 1/24 scale slot racing cars. I was amazed that one could interchange tracks and actually steer the cars from the hand controller. This early form or digital control predated DCC by many, many years and alas, must have either been a technical failure or a sales failure as it quickly vanished from the market.

These days digital control of slot cars is common place, but I do not know if they are as technical as those AMT cars from fifty odd years ago.

Unfortunately, the technical side of any hobby tends to be a niche market and knowledge of such technology limited to those ‘in the know’.

Laser uncoupling, amazing.

It is, but one needs to align the beam accurately enough AND if you can’t see the trigger point e.g. in a yard with several tracks … it’s a no-go if the cars in front are in the way.

OTOH no such problem with DCC activated servos (Massoth or Kadee).

Tim:

Remember GE’s ASTRAC - http://www.dccwiki.com/ASTRAC? Had a friend that bought one and it was, for the time, obviously expensive. It was also a bit unreliable and often suffered when the track and loco pick-ups were not “sparkling” clean.

This was about the same time the BART was being built in the Bay Area. We all joked that the carrier system that they used was probably also the ASTRAC system, just a lot more expensive.

Technology marches on!

Mark H.,

an interesting read. I had not heard of the system. The first ‘digital’ system I can recall was the Hornby Zero 1 module.
