My out door sand towers

Well after see Bobs pic. Of his coal tower I decided I needed some sand towers. The recent post of a sand tower was nice but to nice for outdoors. So I went to our local hardware and plumbing store got some bits and pieces. Started last night and got the towers made, next to get the decks and piping done. Hope to get some more done today.

Richard

Great start. Looking forward to your progress. I could sure use some sand towers.

Sure does.

Nice work!

Nice work Richard. Did you ever see Larry Mosher’s sand towers from years back? If I recall, he made them quite similarly to how you are building yours. I may have some photos somewhere if I can find them, if so I’ll post them up if you’d like to see them.

Whoa, that is a great use of parts! I think of stuff like that and never come up with anything useable. Those will probably outlast all of us!

Jeff

you are probable right as i think about it but i have a pic. of a real one no sizes that is why

went to hardware store and put together what looked right got some more done but no pics.

Richard

I have to say thanks to Jeff for getting my to looking for old pics. of Larry’s towers after much searching I came up with one, and haft to say what he did with his deck is better than what i was going to do so now i have to say thank you to Larry also.

now i did get some work done.

"Dear Joe:

I’m sorry, they have been discontinued for a while.

Regards,

Phil"

Joe i guess i was lucky i found 3 sheets at the same hardware store that i got the pipe in.

they were over in a back corner in a old K&S display covered in dust.

Richard

Joe,

PSME might have something similar. http://www.psmescale.com/ The catalog is $15 or $20 but you get a coupon for the exact amount with the catalog. A wealth of information and products in the PSME catalog.

Did these ever get done? Are they painted? Thanks.

A project of mine as well with a fleet of 11 diesels!

Craig, I got some sheets at PSME. Now I can start making this rig. Thanks!
