Can’t post my pictures! What am I doing wrong?
Welcome Russell.
I’m not sure what you are doing wrong. There is a tutorial on picture posting here: http://www.largescalecentral.com/articles/view.php?id=96
I followed the tutorial, but it won’t upload. My operating system is “XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION”. I’m lost!
Try it again and leave the results. If we can see the code, most likely we can figure out what’s wrong.
Also, what web browser are you using ? Firefox and Internet Explorer do things a little different.
Usually the problem people have is with the file names. Simple file names with no odd characters or spaces work the best.
At what point are you having problems? Getting them to the freight shed or from the freight shed to the post ?

Hi Ralph,
I went over to Russ’ house this morning, trying to get his pictures posted of his new engine. He is using Internet Explorer (I believe it is version 7). We followed the tutorial and did the browse and then tried to upload to the reply window. NOTHING appeared. NO code-NO picture. He also has these photos in his MyLargeScale’s First Class webpage. I tried to do a Copy/Paste from properties and the link appeared. But when he clicked the link, it said page not found. When I post pictures here, I don’t have this problem. I can’t figure out what we’re doing wrong.
If I may offer a possible solution…If you get a “Photobucket” account you can upload the picture there…You have an option of copying the photo for “internet forums”. A simple click in the box on Photobucket and it’s automatically copied in the proper format/size. A “paste” in the LSC reply box and you’re done. So simple even I can do it!
Gary - Russell…
You should be able to copy and paste the image location directly from MLS, as long as there are no spaces in the url, and the url ends in .jpg. I used to do that all the time, when I had an account over there.
The “Upload” window is for uploading from your Com Pewter, not from the web.
Giver that a try.

Steve,
The upload button we used WAS from Russ’ computer. That is what confuses me. I think that the copy/paste from MLS is not working because their file name contains some weird stuff like “%” this. I’ll try to work with his photos, on my computer and see what happens here. Thanks for all the help guys.
Remember to rename the pictures to something simple and easy.
No , . " or anything.
just letters.
For example: You have a couple caboose pics you want to load and share.
Caboose1, Caboose2, and so on.
Go ahead and post the MLS URL anyway. If it doesn’t work, leave the post. Like Ralph said, maybe we can make it work for you. EDIT just to prove you can post MLS pictures here. This is one of your Fairplex pictures. It has a %20 in the url which is OK…

Thanks Jon. I guess that proves you can post a link from MLS. I’ll let Russ know. He’s out partying with the family right now!

This is my 4-4-0 Eureka and Palisades that is awaiting batteries and Airwire controls.
Cool. Glad you figured it out !

Nice locos. I’m especially fond of the E&P 4-4-0. It’s a beautiful model of a stunning locomotive. And the fact that the prototype was a historic part of my favorite area of the country doesn’t hurt either.
Nice engines now you need to weather them some.
