My Napkin Build

While waiting on glues to dry and tired of making parts for my other build I decided to fill in the idle time with making a door. I chose a door as I didn’t get in on the current challenge, so I didn’t have Dave send me one in my scale. I don’t think I’ll have time to get in on the challenge, but I wanted to be prepared in case.

Edited to add that while there are blueprints for doors, that cost hundreds even thousands of dollars, none were used in either the prep, or the building of this door. No plans or patterns were used, nor harmed during this build. It was simply an idea that came to me without warning.

So here goes

The materials

the prep work for the pieces

The pieces

and the build

and the door

So I don’t know if it will be accepted if I try to enter, but it’s a start

Dave, I wish I was building my project our of napkins, it might be more easily done.

Now a doyly, that cake shops use, are stiffer and might do well.

Bildin the rest of it out of the same stuff???..

Great idea for next years challenge

Mik’s 2015 Napkin Build challenge

must use A max of 500 napkins… lol

Now that’s funny Hollywood;)

That’s talent Hollywood.

Set design?

Yeah, I think I almost got the hang of it but too bad they don’t last out in the rain…
I can always make another one I guess

Andrew

No good Hollywood. That door is going to swell big time when it gets wet.

napkinbuilding has the big advantage, to be cheap.

(in this case just sticks, cold coffee and a multilayered napkin)

I used to use the cold coffee to color sails when I built ships
