My mine diorama

I just found out my diorama is this week’s puzzle of the week over at GscaleMad. They are jigsaw puzzles made from member’s pics and a fun way to kill some time. I have to say my pic was a bit more challenging than usual. Check it out here - http://www.gscalemad.co.uk/

Brian, Nice job on diorama. Keep adding stuff that realistically belongs there. My personal opinion is that most models are weathered so much that they become a caricature. Some times things get a little dragged looking but not total rust, rot and corrosion. Study Tom Millers Fn3 layout for inspiration.
What business venture are you going to feature next year?
On a lighter note,
Have you thought about a sound system for the outhouse? My buddy gave me one…it even has remote control activation and a different sound every time!!! Quite realistic…lot of fun too!! Dave

Dave,

I have been professionally landscaping (design/build) for 14 years now and have been adding GR maintenance and building to the mix for the past few. I hope to drum up some more biz in that specialty in the DC/Balt area. Maybe adding custom structure building / critters / weathering services to the mix.
I definitely agree about the caricature of over weathering. There are many good examples of not over doing it like Jack Thompson, Kevin and Bruce. There are quite a few examples of over doing it, too, that I won’t name here.
I love the idea of adding sound to the outhouse (beyond the obvious noises  ). Maybe some unintelligible utterances spoken as the door is opened.

You guys have inspired me. My next model contest entry will be a 7/8's (1:13.7) scale outhouse diorama complete with stains!
