I have an AML(Accucraft) brass 0-6-0 that Devon can run when they visit next week. All weathered and old looking. He should be a happy camper. Also a couple 2-8-0’s and if he likes big, then a kitbashed S.P. GS1 northern. If Craig doesn’t bring one of his own to run then he can have his choice of all kinds of diesels to keep him happy too!
If I remember right, Devon has a GP9 that he is saving for a custom paint job… So he tries to trick us into thinking he hates non steamers…

Naw not really, he’s happy you’re talking about him!

Get him some Amtrak to run when you see him Craig. Amtrak has healing powers!!
Pete, I am surprised at your comments, have I not taught you anything? There is room in this hobby for both steam and diesels. Actually diesels are diesel electrics. A diesel engine driving a generator that puts voltage/power to the electric motors that run the engine. When I am running a steam engine on the Club Module Layout and a kid asks what is that, it is a great opportunity to help teach them about history. When “diesel locomotives” started on the railroads, it took mutable locomotive/engines to pull the same string of cars/load that a single steam Locomotive could. With my C-28, a 2-8-2 I will bet I can take it anywhere you diesel 4 axel locomotives will go. Where am I going with this? I guess it is each to their own, but there is a place for everyone in this hobby, whether it is steam or diesel. Most important is that we need to teach the younger generations about history and why the evolution to more modern equipment.
P.S. I know you are just giving some people s–t about being steam. I would still like to see your layout even though it is a work in progress (mine is too!) Hope to see you soon.

I’m trying Colin but many don’t follow ,listen, or understand. Most just tell me how I should have done it.
It’s all good and nice to see you posting !
Thanks, Rooster. I am trying to get more involved, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Yea, the neighbor kid was great for that . And he would also tell me how my railroad’s block control system worked, and that I could run through my reverse loops the opposite way I have been running. Which I can’t, I know, I designed and built the control system myself. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
Four more days till Devon’s big event!
And no, of course he’s not having a baby, haha!
That was last year. And such a big deal it was.

Devon, I apologize for being a part of the highjack of your thread having to do with your health. I wish you all the luck with your upcoming surgery/procedure. I did not read the title and I thought it was all about Steam vs. Diesel. If we want to discuss Steam vs. Diesel we should start another thread.
Again good luck Devon from the bottom of my heart.
Colin
Colin,
The “unspoken” rule around here is that a thread can drift off topic after page three. This topic is into page 14. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Besides Devon LOVES it! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Yep…It’s all good Colin
Rooster: straps on his anti pecking device
Thank you, I did not know that rule.
Colin, house rules require that after page three, a thread MUST be hijacked. Bob says so. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

When Reagan went into the hospital after he got shot, he told the surgeons he hoped they were Republicans. Devon hopes they’re steam guys.
