Well I think she (the scheduler) was just about as annoyed as I was. Like she said its not easy trying to get two surgeons and the patient all on the same time frame. She got it done and then this pops up. To make matters worse my niece, who is as much a daughter to me as she is a niece, is getting married the Sat after I meet with the general surgeon and before the Monday I meet with the brain cutter. So unless I can do some more rearranging with them I will be driving to Seattle Friday morning having a 10 minute powwow with the surgeon and then driving back to home that same night for the wedding on Saturday then driving back to Seattle that following Monday. Not cool. Hopefully I can explain my situation and gett them to move it all into the same week, or let me Skype the damn doc or talk to him on the phone. Not even really sure why I have to talk to him. He isnāt the lead surgeon, he has a part to play but I am already familiar with what he is going to do to me.
Sounds like a case of so close but yet so far.

Naw, couldnāt be. Maybe he just wants the extra time to re read the instruction manual.
Ya know, when all else failsā¦
Geez you must be really old David. They donāt read the instruction manual. They bring it up on Youtube in the operating room and follow along as they go.
Hey, I am not old. I am only half a century in age. But I grew up in an era that predates You Tube.

We saw a rotary at a garage sale and I took a picture of it and sent it to both of my kids and asked them if they knew how it worked. My daughter did but my son didnāt. That brought up pay phones. my son has never seen a working one.
My google says 300 miles one way, excuse me if I donāt see a big deal driving 10 hours in one day as a big deal! LOL I know if you are not used to it , pick a good station for music or talk, set the cruise and keep the doors closed! Be there in no time

Try doing it with a major headache, blurred vision, I bet you might be more sympathetic.
Remember you are a professional too.

Pete,
I know you are just giving me a hard time and I would expect nothing less from you. . .I would ACCEPT nothing less from you. I actually have no problem driving from home to Issaquah, WA where my Friday appointment is and back home. Its 286 one way. I have driven the road to Seattle and back in the same day on several occasions. It isnāt the worst thing you can do. Its an 8 hour round trip drive. What was frustrating is that 8 hours of driving is for a 15 min Dr consultation. Driving all day for 15 minutes seems a bit unreasonable. And like John said the eye fatigue alone is murder when everything I see is blurry. And the headache would also be a factor and I am pretty sure Washington Highway Patrol would not think to kindly of me driving there and back under the influence of Bourbon and Narcotics. Just to turn around and drive right back that Monday.
But fortunately that is all behind us. The Lord showed mercy on me and answered prayer. I called and was able to move the Friday consultation back to June 7th and left everything else the same. Still two trips but at least this time I will be able to take the wife along (she wasnāt going to be able to go) and we donāt have to be back until that Monday so we are going to make a mini vacation out of it and just take our time coming home. Then I wonāt need to go back for two weeks. I will have to go over the Monday before surgery by myself and my wife and parents will come Wednesday the day before my surgery. Craig has graciously opened his home to me for that Monday and Tuesday and said he will likely be out of school so I will be able to catch up with him and have someone to keep me company and play with his baby. So actually this is going to work out well and maybe even better than the original plan.
Now of course Pete if you were half a friend at all you would schedule a delivery in Seattle on June 7th and come through Post Falls and pick me up and take me back and let me crash in your sleeper.

If I can get off my butt maybe I can build out a few more feet of railroad before the end of Juneā¦

Could I get that lucky? If so I will request they leave my IV in and we can plumb me straight in.
If that doesnāt work out for the trip, you could always get yourself one of these: BeerBelly
Or if youāre wifeās going along, you might talk her intoā¦ WineRack
Either way, you might need: umā¦

no such luck! I have hauled āspiritsā in the past( mid 80ās, but now itās a flatbed so best you could hope for is lumber or rocks in bags as something you could use! I would love to drive you to and from the appointment, but what the heck would we do with the trailer when we got close to the hospital!! Glad to see it has all been rectified and there isnāt the time crunch anymore!

What you canāt parallel park it or park it in the parking garage?
Naw, you just leave the trailer at the Flying J, with a kingpin lock on it, so no one can take it.
