great job.
Thanks Devon!
good - better - best - Ray!
well, it is no news to any of us, to see another extra class building shown in this thread.
but it is news to me, that you are a good writer and storyteller too.
Thanks, Korm!
Very nice and congrats on the gig.
Here are a couple photos of a bridge I just finished. It’s for a 15" gauge mine tram, that will run from the mines above Mineral Ridge, across to the mill. I gave it a planked deck because I figure they wouldn’t want to risk spilling rocks onto the building, pedestrians or vehicles below. This is also the reason for the corrugated metal along the sides (plus it hides some less-than-prototypical construction elements):
I still need to extend the concrete base of the bent, and also fill in a couple small voids in the concrete. The bent, and most of the bridge, is made from strips of styrene textured and painted to look like wood. The deck is 6mm Sintra.
Very Nice Ray,
You say 15" gauge… are you using S gauge or HO or your own hand laid? I have and idea for a distant project for a 15" gauge compressed air mine RR. in 1:20.3 I am thinking S will be close enough.
Thanks Devon. I’m using HO, which comes out to 15" in 1/24th scale. I’m also planning to eventually build an air loco for this mine, using the mechanism from a Bachmann On30 Porter. I’m hoping to rig it up to run back and forth between the mines and mill, automatically.
Ray well-done !!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Your going to have to start covering up all those foundation holes soon! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Wow we have about the same ideas floating around. This will be eventually for my indoor micro. I want it to go back and forth automatically using reed switches and time delays. I look forward to following along.
I had to go re figure s gauge comes out to about 18" not 15" in 1:20.3 which was what I was shooting for sorry to anyone who cared or caught my mistake.

Thanks! That’s one of the reasons I wanted to get the bridge done, so I could do the building that will be under it, and the two that will be on the other side of it.
This site needs an emoticon one can click on after reading about Ray’s latest project. I am out of superlatives and my fingers are getting tired. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)
So, let me get this right, We get to see 3 more of your creations? WOW, looking foreword to what might be popping up. Any hints? Lets see, by the mine/mill, an Assayers office? A doctor/dentist emporium? And maybe Grandmas pie shack? or Billy Bobs well drilling? Madame ZORAs Palm and Tarro parlor? Dave’s fine photo studio? Undertaker? Overtaker?

He’d need double glass doors to fit the name on (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
That would be step up from being on the side of a wagon! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
The building directly under the bridge will be a saloon called The Grizzly Bar. The two buildings above it on the other side of the bridge will be mining structures, probably a power house and blacksmith’s shop.
Wow.
