Large Scale Central

My Caboose

Hi Everybody,

While I was waiting for the weather to get better so I can finish my tankcar, I started building my Bronson-Tate SPC caboose that I’ve had for a few years. Now that I have a live steam 4-4-0 I felt it was about time I got it built. Here are some progress photos.

I just finished assembling the trucks and will be adding the brake linkage, truss rods and toolbox next.

George Green, the freight conductor on the Hampshire County Narrow Gauge requested a sit down desk be installed in the passenger compartment as he has gotten tired of standing at the stand up desk in the baggage compartment(yet to be made). So using some left over scrape from the parts sheets I made this small desk for George to sit at.

And this is where it will be installed.

Still lots to do, prime all the sides and paint before assembly and the roof. That’s a kit all by itself. Thanks for looking.

Woa. That’s pretty.

Thanks Tom.

That’s a really nice kit. Do the trucks come with it?

Terry

Hi Terry,

Yes they did. A set of Hartland passenger truck frame were included as well. Those I plan on using under some Carter Brother passenger cars I will be scratch building in the future. Unfortunately the kit is no longer available as Bronson-Tate is no longer producing and selling the line of rolling stock kits they use to offer.

Bummer, I would have liked to get one like that someday.

Terry

Probably pretty much the same with Phil’s narrow gauge stuff. If you want it, better get it while it is sitll available. BT stuff sells for BIG bucks on ebay, same with Hartford.

Thanks Boomer. I’ll keep ya posted. I’ll also make the photos a little smaller too.
