Excellent, Ray.
I really enjoyed that

Yea, what he said…
I enjoyed that as well Ray, thanks for sharing.
Very nicely done. I loved the literal “at the trackside shots”…it looked like you or your camera was about to be crushed by the huge locomotive. Fantastic!

Thanks! I always try to find shots and camera angles that aren’t “run of the mill”. I had a lot of other things planned, but didn’t get a chance to do them. Due to the lousy economy and its effect on tourism, the RR isn’t getting as many riders as it used to, and they cut back to only one steam run the day I was there. (It used to be 2-3.) Also I got caught off-guard when the train returned from the end of the run much quicker than in the past. I think they must have extended the wye so that they can now turn the whole train at once. On top of all that, I had a second camera that I couldn’t use because its battery died.
That was very enjoyable. Thanks Ray! Ely is on my bucket list. I hope it survives until I get there.
Thanks Ray. I liked the tunnel portal in the opening scene. Looked like they precast a portal to fit the loco and stuck it in an opening.
