MTH VO-1000 that does not fit in with my plans for my layout. $400, these are getting rare. MTH is not doing another run of them. Shows only 5 hours of run time. Comes in the factory box with all the parts. Has the front that pivots with the wheels installed right now, but also has the pieces to screw to the frame so the front/rear stay put. Runs smooth, lights/sound/smoke all work fine. I’ll get a short video on here later. Traction tires look dry, but it came from New Mexico Richard said that is common. Nice clean unit, with no obvious wear.
The VO1000 is a great running engine, if I didn’t already have (2) of them I would grab this one!
Might have to break down and put it on ebay.
Sorry but steam rules here on the P&CS. Smokey is rather wary of them newfangled, cantankerous, unproven, diesel-lectric thangs.
Hey, it’s from 1948 and only 18" long. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Yea Jerry, but I think I have enough of them Diesel-lectic thangs. Jerry, how does it look with USA stuff. Maybe with a passenger car? Could I bother you to post a comparison photo? I’m not familiar with mth. USA Alcos rule the roost here but…
I have it packed back up in the box Todd. I don’t have any 1/29 stuff left, sold it all off, so no comparison possible It’s about 18" long, did not measure the height. The MTH catalog says 18 5/16" b 7/16 tall and 3 11/16" wide
