MTH Hudson advice

I just bought a used MTH Hudson, will get it on Friday. Any advice on it? I see the DCS Remote commander set seem s a low price way to get all the sound features to work on it. Just plug it into my Aristo 10 amp power supply. Would appreciate any comments.

Check out Raymond Manley’s site–he did some work on my brother’s Big Boy and has a large list of MTH-specific modifications and issues with some specific to the Hudson.

Thanks, I went over to Ray’s site, got some emails from him also. He has been helpful in the past, should have thought of him. Guy selling the Hudson has the good remote at a low price, so gonna buy that also. This MTH control/sound thing looks pretty neat, watching some of Ray’s videos.

Let us know your experience with this loco. I’ve got the GS4 Daylight and love it. Just wish I could get my trackwork up to snuff for it. It’s pretty heavy compared to my other equipment, and i don’t want to dump it. Thus, I’ve been checking my electrical connections, ballast, and right to left level.

I was about 90% finished when the weather turned sour. Now my RR is buried under inches of dead wet leaves!

I really like mine. Still puzzling the remote out, but it sure runs good. Had problem with one traction tire and the replacement, not sure what the deal is there. Got them from Ray. Have not run it since the last replacement, too cold out!

I like mine too. Just wish the instruction book was better.
