Thanks to Joe Zullo, I’m slowly getting the hang of posting vids.
Here’s a vid of my only MTH loco: A GG1 with an MDC coal drag and an Accucraft caboose.
It was running at Chuck Inlow’s railroad this summer.

PFM ? Somebody will have to explain that to me so I can be the guy who laughs last.

As much as I love electric locomotives, I just cannot get past running them without overhead wire. I did have a catenary system on my garden railway until a couple of years ago, but dismantled it due to high maintenance and trying to keep a garden integrated with it. Just my own feelings. I’m not knocking anyone who feels secure enough to run electrics under an imaginary catenary system.

That’s how we explained how fiber optic cable worked. Pure (or Plain) Freaking Magic!
(but we usually substituted another F-word to explain it, depending on the company)…
I run my streetcars without the overhead wire. Like has been said, it can be a real chore to keep the catenary in place in an outdoor setting.
If I had a large indoor layout, I’d prolly use catenary. But outside it’s imaginary. Catenary wouldn’t last one night on my pike with the coons and feral cats getting caught in it.
But John, Crank up the voltage in that catenary enough and I bet they won’t come back.
My issue would be, if I strung the overhead for my 1:29 streetcars, my 1:20.3 shay would rip it out each time I ran it.
One great video; years ago when I was with Steamtown USA at Scranton, met a young man who was a Conrail engineer running the GG1s - he stated if I remember correctly, he ran 6 of them at once!
