My conversion of a MTH coach into a dome is not quite done. Wanted to run it at night to see how the lights were working out. Still need a few mods there. Had fun running it at night though. I like this shot from the back.
Dome car, the lower area is dark under the dome, so will fix that.
A little blurry, should have stopped it, but give you the idea.

I purchased the “undecorated” silver cars as no GN where available and I felt painting the more expensive cars was a waste…Regret that now.

I didn’t know the undecorated ones were not lighted.
Have they always been made that way from LGB?
The set I have is about 10-12 years old.

Vincent…Yep, the undecorated never came lit…You can buy kits if you can find them but they seem to never sell as the owners ask as much for the kit as a new car from LGB!

Have you guys ever been in a dome car at night ? Probably not…because if you have the lights in the dome turned on at night, you can’t see a durn thing outside. When travelling in the dome at night, it is far better to watch the signals, and passing trains, also the twinkling lights of communities you are passing, with the lights OUT…
The same thing goes for locomotive cab lights. The crew has the cab light turned off so they can see out…their night vision would not be worth a durn with them on.
