Howdy all Here’s some shots of my latest project. Taking a USA Trains MOW crane, and scaling it up to 1:20. Involved disassembling the original crane, widening the flatcar with styrene, and redecking it with wood. Then, removing the original cab, widening and lengthening the base, and building the new cab up from styrene and scribed wood. The roof is 2 layers of dryer sheet, painted charcoal black.
I intend on building a clamshell bucket for the crane, as well as a ditcher attachment for the arm. Then, building the idler flatcar, with a toolshed on one end. These 2 cars will be joined semi-perminently with cast resin dummy couplers, which will mate with the Accu 1:20 coupler. (you can see the prototype coupler on the left of the crane flat) Enjoy! -=Bob
