Moving up

Well, I’m finally getting a new computer – should arrive by the end of the week. I’m also looking into getting a faster connection, probably DSL since that’s the cheapest.

Unfortunately none of my software will run on the new computer and I can’t afford to replace it all at once. So I’ll still be using the old comp for almost everything but the internet, at least for a while.

You must be getting one with Vista on it. Personally I would ditch the Vista and load XP. It will run most things from Win98. In fact I’ve only found one proggie from Win95 that XP didn’t have a driver for. I’d give Vista a couple years to iron out the bugs first. Besides currently there is darn little that Vista can do that XP can’t. You would have to be heavy into gaming or a professional graphic artist to notice. Just my opinion of the situation.

Actually, I’m going from a 10-year-old beige Mac G3 running System 8, to a shiny new iMac and OS X 10.5.

Sympathy card is in the mail…:stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, pay no attention to Warren. He’s just jealous.

I’ve still got my old 6500/275 running OS8 powering my Alps printer. Just as rock solid as the day it was built 10 years ago. I just replaced my G4 with a dual-processor G5 tower, and that’s enough of a speed boost. When they say buckle up, they mean it.

Later,

K

If you order direct from Dell you can still get XP operating system, with the latest dual processors. Nick Jr

Way to go Ray!
