Moving to Idaho

Hi, I have not been on the forum in quite a long time but I need some help.

I am moving to the Treasure Valley/Boise Idaho area (Meridian) next month and haven’t been able to find any contact information with any large scale groups in the area.

Hiya John…if anybody knows, I’ll bet our LSC Chuck Inlow does.

Steve Featherkile, John Bouck, Devon Sinsley are are all in that area.

Edit to remove outdated info.

Welcome to Idaho.

While I am, as well as Chuck, in Idaho its not what I would say as being in the area. I am about 8 hours from that area. We live in the northern tip of the state. But if your ever traveling through our club is pretty active and I am sure we could find a place to run trains.

Devon , Didn’t realize until now how far from civilization(lol) you are. John would have to get way lost, then get more loster to be in your area. Just kidding, I was through there once or twice, beautiful area. I have a life long friend who is Pastor of a chruch in the Boise area

Pete,

We are quite civilized. I installed a one holer last year. . .indoors. . . with water that comes by magic all by itself when you push a leever.

and of course you have been harvesting ice for the new fangled “Ice Box” in the kitchen by the wood stove, bet you even have real floors too, not the dirt floors. I thought until I just looked on my map you were closer to Boise, not next door to Spokane.

Yeah while I will never ever concede to this, we are far more a part of Eastern Washington than we are Idaho. Our “Big City” is Spokane. I work in Spokane Valley.

Nah, no need for one of them Ice Boxes. We just leave stuff we want cold outside. We have two seasons in N. Idaho. Freezer season and refrigerator season.

Welcome to Idaho John. But like Devon said all of us live in the Northern part of the state where it has mountains and lots of trees. The Boise area of Idaho is more desert and farm land. You might check with the local hobby shop down in that area after you get settled in. One of our former members lives down in that area and there was a club at one time, but I don’t know if they even exist anymore.

Our club is located in what we call the Pacific Northwest which takes in the Coeur D’Alene, Idaho and Spokane, Washington area. We currently have over 30 family members, with most having backyard layouts. We meet the third Saturday of every month at a members house to run trains on their railroad and enjoy everyone’s company. You’re always welcome to come visit anytime and as Devon said we can always find a layout to run on. We also have a web site that you can check out it’s www.inlandnorthwestgardenrailroadsociety.org

Well, most but not all, right Devon?

Find a layout to run on. Devon wouldn’t it better if you had your own sandbox to play in?

We also have a web site that you can check out it’s www.inlandnorthwestgardenrailroadsociety.org

Thanks for the invite, I’ll keep it in mind.

John

@chuck…I was trying to use the contact form on the clubs website and it doesnt appear to send the info. How can I get in touch with the president?
