Large Scale Central

mountain railroading

Hi all,

My son and a friend of his ran some trains this weekend. It snowed about a foot here during the weekend after Thanksgiving, and last weekend I shoveled out the mainline. Earlier this week it snowed about an inch. Perfect for snowfighting operations! We didn’t bother with prototypical lashups.

We plowed the line open yesterday and then it snowed again overnight. This morning the first lap was completed pushing my Russell snowplow, the X-67:

The line is pretty well open now:

My son’s modified Bachmann loco now makes it around the line:

We then decided to run a flanger train to widen the path through the snow:

An finally, a pic from roof of the caboose:

Cheers,

Matt

cool pictures, thanks for sharing, Bill

Spectacular runs, only to be topped in satisfaction by the fact that your son and his friend were running train…that’s what it’s all about!

I had to go put on a jacket to look at those photos … brrrrrrrr (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Looks like you and your son had a great time. Thanks for sharing.

I love the Russell snow plows so does my cuz!

Only one I own is an X-69.

The Russell is reserved for serious snowfighting:

And sometimes I use this thing:

Cheers,

Awesome! Great pics, the snow really makes it difficult sometimes to tell it’s a model.
