More of "What Happened"?

So.
Word trickling out of the tightly slammed doors in Philly indicate some sort of “problem”.
The Bach-fellow posted 07DEC07 that all K’s were in, adding stickers, videos, etc.
On Wednesday, it was asked when, he said he’d find out Thursday.
It’s Saturday.

One source says (and this is third or fourth hand), that the tenders were out of the boxes…two versions exist from that point, and I’ll let others fill that part in.

Any idea when these needed to be at dealers to be in-hand by Dec 24th, with UPS?
Figure cross-country, one full week, and we’re getting close to the wire.

One call from a friend today indicates nothing in stock at his dealer.

Good thing I’m not waiting for one for review anymore.
I HATE it when they cut the deadline that close for printing.

And, I have decided exactly how to make older units run like a Swiss Watch…

Hope the “experts” they have on-board can help them sort out any difficulties.

Used to be, I’d pick up the phone and run these “tidbits” past someone from Bachmann, and get some kind of damage-control statement, but, hey, can’t make those calls anymore.

Anyone want to start a “pool” on first delivery to a customer?
Wonder just how close that Durango Dan fell will be when it’s all said and done?

Honestly, is there anyone at Philly with the technical expertise to dismantle/rewire and reaassemble hundreds of tenders (assuming the super-duper socket is the problem)? Ship everything back where they came from and start again. All this cobbling up will lead to premature failure down the track. Those wanting one will get one for Christmas, but not this Christmas (you’ve only been waiting a few years, what is another Christmas or two???).

The whole publicity surrounding this loco with its ban on discussion and now choosing a super socket in the final throes of production cannot be good for consumer confidence.

I’ve yet to get a loco from Bachmann that worked correctly out of the box. Beautiful to look at, but leaves you wanting.

I don’t want one, have no use for it…

I could get a Connnie, an American…and maybe 1/2 a Shay…if/when we ever get an Eastern Outline Fn3 loco from Bmann—I’ll wait for the 2nd run w/o question if then-after this Debacle!

…or maybe they will learn from all of this Utter Stupidity and get things going in the right direction (maybe fire some dead weight and pick up some brains somewhere?)…

Not only did they drop the gumball, …after it fell in the poop, they picked it up and stuck it right back in their mouth…gonna leave a bad taste for sure!

one would think a Global Company as large as Bmann would have their “stuff” together…wasn’t too long ago, one would have thought the same of a Former German based manufacture…That no longer exist as it did before…

merry Christmas!

Dear All,
The hold up is the lack of videos. As of yesterday, the goal is to have everything ready and shipping from Philadelphia on Tuesday. We have hired temps to expedite the packing and shipping.
Let’s hope…
Happy Holidays!

I guess that just might answer some of the criticisms…

tac, up before most of you.

Terry, I guess any excuse is better than none.

I guess they didn’t realize they were going to have to ship a video with each locomotive? I wonder when this dawned on them?

heres another for you…is the Aristocraft C-16 shipping Yet? Been-“Coming Soon” for how many years now?

Hey Tac! Merry Christmas!..hadn’t chatted in a while
