More computer-stand trestles

Some time ago, I posted photos of some trestles made out of plastic computer stands that were headed out to the rubbish bin at work. I’m in the process of building more of the same, using a modified technique. The bottom of the computer stand will hold the track:

Start with Greg’s idea - treat the plastic with ArmorAll:

Drill four holes in a hefty 2’ long scalloped concrete border we no longer need in the garden:

Drill matching holes in two computer stands and screw into scallop:

Here’s the result so far:

Drill out the four screw holes in each corner of each stand (just over a quarter-inch):

Finally, dig trench, place scallop in trench, check levels and, for each scallop, hammer home eight pieces of quarter-inch steel rod through the holes in the corner of the stands. Rod length varies from about 18" to 30", depending on the stability of the soil and how much scallop is buried in the ground. Photos of finished result to come. Only had to buy the rod and the ArmorAll.
