More Bridge Woes

I ordered a bridge for my second phase back in December, and 6 months later, I have nothing but excuses. After last years bridge problems, I was really looking forward to a smooth sale, but I guess I shouldn’t be buying bridges.

… G Scale Bridge …

Shane,

Your bridge will ship this Month for sure. I am trying to get your model out by the end of this week. Still working through back log Of orders. I have set up 10 work tables. I move back and forth between the different projects The “hand craft” time fabricating the models has Taken longer than expected. I will send you some photos Of progress I am making.

Shane

I am working on your model at this time. Just completed a similar model refer photo and packing for shipment.

Plan on shipping tour assembled model to you next week. Do you want
It painted black, weathered, rusty or some other color?
Apologize for delay.

Just accumulated a lot of orders leading up to Christmas and working
Through the back log.

I have 10 work tables, but, they vary
In size, gauge, complexity & amount of fabrication required.

Regards

Steve

Did you use Paypal? I would give him till the end of the month to ship it or return your funds.

Chris,

This is where it gets stranger. I changed my PayPal from my bank account to my MasterCard. While all transactions have gone through since, Paypal has no record of them. My MC bills show PayPal transactions. I’m currently trying to find out from PayPal why they have no record of the transaction.

Shane

Perhaps he needs fewer work tables?

That may be the problem Bruce. I think my table is behind the other nine. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I love bridges !

Rooster, I’m the same. People say “if you believe that, I have a G scale bridge to sell you”, and the money just falls out of my wallet. Maybe I’m not understanding what they are really saying…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

That’s a real nice bridge. I’d like to have one just like it. But 6 months is obviously an unreasonable amount of time to wait for it. It should be first come, first serve and finish each one before moving on to the next order. “10 work tables, but they vary in size, gauge, complexity & amount of fabrication required.” BFD!! What a completely lame excuse to hold you off with the hope that you’ll understand the cause of the delay.

But WOW, what a nice bridge. I’d be hard-pressed to pick black, weathered, or rusty.

dude does awesome work, obviously he is in demand, but wow, maybe he needs to concentrate on one at a time orkeep in better communication with his customers. Never could figure out why some people refuse to give honest answers and realistic goals on when their stuff will be ready

Yes a very beautiful bridge, but I look at something like that and all I can think of is how much work it is going to be to keep the dead Oak leaves and spider webs out of it(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

This is the truth …the leaves are a bitch

I used to get myself tied in knots like this guy with making and selling my figures. You don’t mean to but you can disappoint your customers. Now I only offer what I’m 100% ready to deliver, a very small line at the best possible quality. I don’t think of it as a business & I don’t have to pressurize myself to build up volume. Who needs that?

Your dude should make 1-2 bridges then make his offer. He shouldn’t accept advance orders and above all should never make promises.

Doing otherwise only pressurizes you. You’ll never be able to fill the orders in peace of mind and on time. You’ll spoil your life and all your pleasure trying. It will also keep you from doing other things you want to do. You may even lose sleep over all you have to do, It’s too much. Been there, done that. Cut 'way back again to where and when this hobby was fun.

In my case I make figures and molds for some of them, and if somebody wants to purchase one, great, but it’s purely a sideline. If it provides pocket change that’s all to the good, and I buy figure-making supplies. But I don’t allow this tiny cottage industry to take over.

We all have lives to live, and business shouldn’t be allowed to overtake ours.
