More battery stuff..NT-kinda

OUCH!

story is here: http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou091005_tnt_exploding-flashlight.1e81746a5.html common sense didn’t prevail? http://backwoodshome.com/blogs/MassadAyoob/2009/10/07/use-dedicated-batteries-in-your-high-tech-illumination-tools/

Ouch is right.
As for common sense…who hasn’t ignored a manufacturer who says to use only their brand of battery
or other accessory?
If there are unsafe batteries on the market, something needs to be done about it.

Myself, when I used to do some dangerous work…I carried a metal Mag-Lite.

WoW! I hope you (or the officer) heal quickly. I passed this on to a civilian concealed carry forum I frequent. Hopefully it will save someone else any injuries.

I recently switched back to Streamlight’s CR123’s only because they had a good price on bulk purchase. I’ll certainly stay with them now.

Yikes!

not me! found in Ayoob’s blog…

Interesting that Streamlight confirmed other EXPLOSIONS in their flashlights, blamed on off-brand batteries.

Well, quality has it’s benefits, buy cheap, get cheap.
