Large Scale Central

Money trains eh?

My how things have changed. If we had invested in Gold & Silver instead of a bunch of trains, we could now sell the metal and purchase an empire of trains. Yes, I know some of you already have that !!!

On another note. Our friends way up in the far Northern States are now just about on par ( 1 to 1 ) with the USD. Welcome to the land of cheeeep $$$ Oh ya ! Same for our good friends down under too. Come visit and spend…

On a positive note, is there one ?, China is still producing cheap model trains so we can rejoice somewhat.
Give me an amen on that…

Now back to the regular stuff…

Interesting thought … but, could you run gold and silver instead of trains? Would you have slept better waiting for the price of precious metals to finally increase?

Well I did the right thing then, I have no gold or silver but I do have lots of trains. In fact probably far too many but what the hey, I’m happy I think, as that is what the wife tells me…

Your version might be different and that is good too…

TOF

I exchanged my gold and solver for my trains. Long ago.

Now, the only gold is in my teeth, the only silver in my hair…

I invested in brass. got it at 2 dollars a foot and now its worth about 8 and I get to run trains on it as well.

This may not apply to you guys living in the United States where large scale items are vastly less expensive than the UK. However, I have recently sold some 1:29 rolling stock second hand that obtained the price that I paid for it a couple of years ago. This was possible due to price increases over here in the last two years.
A kind of investment I guess like the track Geoff mentions.
