Greg I understand that, it just sounds low to me. I guess I am just used to more speed steps, and having more control over my trains in DCC.
Yep, that’s why the higher speed steps came into vogue.
Many people replace their old decoders to go to the 28/128 range.

Dave Bodner has a JMRI set up. Could that read the MTS CVs and set them? I know it was a snap for Dave to set up the DCC decoder in my HO PC F7, but an LGB MTS Mogul is a whole different animal.
Since I can reprogram the LGB and all other decoders with my Zimo system, it is only the end users understanding of their electronics and the understanding of the decoders manual that limits what can be done and Dave is quite capable.
I do have the LGB computer module on my PC and can run the MTS or Massoth software.
THe MTS software does let you know the decoder type and revision of MTS decoders.
