Large Scale Central

Modified LGB 50' boxcars (pictures)

Here’s my latest projects. Both boxcars started as LGB Railbox style cars that were altered to match D T & I prototypes. On this one I made new doors and the panel for the compass herald - the decal of the herald I had Stan Cedarleaf make for me (thanks Stan - nice work)

This one has more extensive modifications. I scratchbuilt the doors, and all thier hardware including the guide rails. Also made the plates and door stop brackets.

Here’s all 5 cars I’ve done so far

I’m really having fun in ‘G’ scale and can’t wait to get some rails put up outside.[8D] Enjoy, Brian B. DT&I 1980ish

Nice work…but I question your use of “G”, as a scale. It would be more appropriate to say Large Scale, and then if you want to be exact; probably somewhere close to 1:29 scale.

Sorry to be so picky, but with such craftsmanship and ending up with great models; it is fitting to call them Large Scale, if you are not sure of the exact scale, which is probably near 1:29.

Brian, keep up the great work…

Great work on the boxcars. I really like the look of the different doors.

Ignore Fred, he’s just cranky cause its too warm this winter.

Really nice modeling , looks great , thanks for shareing .

Brian,

I like it!

Reminds me of the “good ole days” when my buddies would take whatever raw material aka R-T-R in HO and produce some proto rolling stock with a bit of extra work.

Yeah, how can any self-respecting bear hibernate in these tropical temperatures? Now, me, who ain't a retired gentleman of leisure, I'm enjoying these October/April conditions, but I fear that (rhymes with itch) Mother Nature will make us pay for it later.

Nice boxcars, incidentally.

Hey…I thoght he did great work…now I’m going back into my cave…

Sweet! Excellent work!
