The last things I had to do to finish this car were the load and trucks. The trucks get a wash of chalks . The load was made from 2 inch thick pink insulation board topped with small pieces of wood and stuff from my junk box. Its all held together with white glue and topped with a orange veil netting. Outstanding work as usual !!
Well I finished car #2 of this build yesterday and here are a few shots of it. I have two beautiful grand kids , Evelyn and Abigail, and thus the graffiti of their names on the sides. Car # 10057 is Abigail’s and #10094 is Evelyn’s . I also started putting yellow reflective stripes on all my rolling stock as I try to model today’s railroads . I bought it off Amazon and I am very impressed with it’s thinness and adhesion to my rolling stock. The name of the tape is JNK Networks 0.2 inch by 150 feet . I also deceptively used numbers for the other two that didn’t have pictures of in Railroad Pictures Archive. net . That way I could liberally use graffiti of my choice. BTW , looking forward to your caboose build.

Thanks Rooster ! You do some great modeling yourself . Here are some pictures of the tape I was talking about. It measures 6 scale 1/29th inches wide so I had to trim off @ 2 scale inches of it. Using tape and a strait edge I taped it down carefully and then trimmed the width of it down to 4 scale inches. Then I marked off pieces 36" and 18 scale inches long. I used tape on the tank cars to get the stripes as even as possible and marked the tape where the reflective stripes should go. I have more than one to do. The F.R.A. says the longer 36" pieces go as close to the ends as possible or you can use two 18 inch pieces and the smaller strips should be no more than 12 feet apart. here’s some pictures on various rolling stock .
