Its been a few weeks since I got more done on this car . I got the decals applied from Stan and clear coated it . Again the decals were really nice and went on real nice . I did have some issues with the tiny reporting marks that go on the trucks. I’m glad I had Stan make me 12 of them on the sheet. They were really small and hard for me to see. Anyhow the next thing to do is to weather it and then finally get the wood end boards on. Here are a few photo’s from today. .(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0938.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0948.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0939.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0943.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0932.jpg)

Wow Mike, 1:1 cars dont look that good!
Here’s some photo’s from today of the finished car . The car was weathered with a chalk/alcohol mix . When I was satisfied with the weathering I put it on a homemade jig that holds it vertically and epoxied strips of basswood to the inside of the bulkheads . The strips were first painted with a black alcohol/chalk mix. I like the chalk cuz I can lighten it with clean alcohol to get more random shades of black. After the epoxy set I drilled four simulated bolt holes per board. That’s all for this build . Thanks for following along and commenting !(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0950.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0953.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0956.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0958.jpg)(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/todus2/gondola%20load/imga0961.jpg)

Shawn wishes his rolling stock had 33" wheels !
Can’t help what you are born with though!
I wish I could make this my job , but I dabbled in that a few years back casting 53’ mill gons and it didn’t add up . My better half is happy i’m done with this. Now I can spend more time with her. But in a month or so i’m gonna go down to my little workshop and look at my plastic sheet and start carving again. Thanks again guys !
