Styrene is really easy to work with. You can just score it and snap it. Bond it with a liquid solvent-type glue. I use Plastruct’s “Plastic Weld”. A lot of folks use MEK, and I may try it eventually.
Styrene can also be scribed to look like wood, by scraping it with a fine-toothed saw blade and/or coarse sandpaper.
It’s not UV resistant but painting it will protect it, especially if you can also top it with a coat of Krylon UV Matte finish.

Timmy, not much help, though I’ve used it once…built this tender shell over a HLW flat/Gon kit…worked well, or at least it did for me. Scribe and snap as mentioned, good solvent makes work easier!
