Large Scale Central

Model Power is closing

Hi Guys:

TrainWorld has a clearance sale of Model Power product.

Really too bad to see them close down.

Way back in the 1980’s , I bought a slope back tender shunter steam locomotive by Model Power.
Ran just fine and the locomotive was not an expensive item just like the early days of largescale product offerings.

WOW they’ve been around for a real long time. I have two MP locos for Gn15.

Which part of Model Power? I understood that the injection moulds were sold to PIKO, some time ago.

And model railroading looses another manufacturer. This is not a good thing. I have a Mantua Classic HO Pacific, made by Model Power. She is just like the Tyco Pacific I ran the drivers off of when I was a kid, except she was DCC ready. I don’t like to see another manufacturer shut down.

Ooops the moulds came from Model Diecasting, not Model Power.

Hans, yes, that’s what I understand too. MDC/Roundhose molds went to Piko.
