I have been out of Large Scale for about 3 years but last weekend in Seattle I visited Eastside trains and I started drooling. So, do not want to start a war but do the three main mfgs products look OK together? I know Aristo and USA do but does MTH fit in or is it MTH only with MTH equipment. In the display cases it was hard to tell but I know in the past there was a problem. Thanks. DD
Its ok Dave they really do all work together, check out my youtube page 12ns12

You will find that the MTH locos will look a little small, on freights, put a gondola or a flat car behind the locos, that helps a lot.
On passengers, the MTH locos will look small against 1:29, but the larger steamers will look good with the Aristo heavyweights.
Regards, Greg
Look at a real freight train, there are large cars and small ones, so it is quite prototypical. USA and Aristo are pretty much the same scale.
True, but when a 40’ box car towers over the tender on a big boy or challenger, then you might not like the look.

David- e-mail me, plan on an ops session first and third Friday.
5 miles north of Eastide Trains.
Ask Dave or Bert in the shop.
They know how to get here.
T run MTH dash 8s with aristo and USA and Bachmann cars all the time It looks fine to me and never had anyone viewing say anything about it
Hey it’s my rail road Owner& ceo of the ECT RR

The biggest problem is the size of the locos. Aristo and USAT cars are over bearing. Later RJD
Just how many bears does it take to be over bearing RJ??? LOL
Ed
All cars are over bearings they run on wheels with bearings in em and the boxcars are over em LOL Hah The Regal
couldn’t resist the “Devil made me do it” hah
Here’s Another How many clothes do you have to remove be fore you are over bear ing
LOL Ed AGAIN
If you are a cute female, all of them… hey, that was easy…
Greg
Well one could use dwarf also. Now lets see who can take this a step further. HeHe. Later RJD
About 30 seconds into the below video you will see an MTH Triplex (1:32) pulling (1:29) Aristo 2 bay hopper cars. The Aristo Classic cars look fine with MTH stuff also even though they are 1:24 scale, they are still small as compared to the larger MTH. Check out Raymond Manley’s web site where he pulls Aristo Heavy weights with MTH Hudson, looks good, see videos…Jim
“… and never had anyone viewing say anything about it”
Because they actually respect the fact, . . . . "Hey it’s my rail road ".
Unless they are true colleagues whom you have a repor’ with that know you wish them to share constructive critiques, or more times than not — accolades.
Not knowing you if I dropped into a open house of your railway, i wouldn’t say anything negative about your layout unless asked for opinions
yooow winter just blasted in here again . . .

Doug I take my trains with me when we go camping and trust me while you may not express your view point there are those that do. I have had real conductors, real engineers, track repair people,( people that should know) and lots of other people view. Mostly nice comments but not all But not one time has anyone said any thing about the diffrencein the size except on the forums that I visit These are not scale models and most most people could care less they just like to see them run I have people beg me to bring the trains both young and old and those in between We have a great time doing this I usually have a stach of wooden train whistle I give to the little kiddies.
Doug If we ever run into each other please express your views good or bad It’s my RR
My view There is enough Chicken poop in the world, so don’t sweat the small stuff
