Mining Mack - Borracho style

It’s all Mr Walas’s fault Some times when I see something a switch goes off in my head and the way on how to make something comes very quickly to me. When I saw the new LGB Kof I thought that was really cool, then Chris posted his way cool “low slung” Porter on MLS and then I really wanted something “low slung” like that but in Dismal form, and began considering how to use a Mack to do it. One day sketching in my little notebook the switch went of, Aha!, so I decided to make something like the Kof with influences by Plymouth What I started with:

Introduce Mr Razorsaw Relocate the cab back and cut it into the frame, added some additional frame extenstions

Cut the radiator off the hood, add a new styrene hood

New bits added,

New interior started

Underside showing self adhesive lead weights stuck where-ever I could fit them

Be carefull to make sure the engine weights are balance evenly, helps performance Painted

Still needs a little weathering and a dullcoat to even out the paint, but its all ready for service on the line.

One of these days your head is going to explode when that switch goes off

Looks great, Vic.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with when you can run outdoors and start working with the big locos
Ralph

Really nice, Vic! I like that one a lot!

I often wonder how HLW pays for those full-page/ last page ads in GR…I have now arrived at the answer: Victor and his fleet of Macks…of course I’m only jealous…you nailed it again Vic!

Do you suppose that sometimes that switch in Vic’s head shorts out?

Proly not this time, though.

Looks good, Vic!

That is a rather interesting looking custom lokie…and I ain’t clowning neither! That pre-paint job yellow, black and while pallet, reminds me of one of my kids Lego creations slightly. But I think that after ‘mamacita nature’ takes her toll on the finish, you will have a winner there amigo.

=D

Victor. Wonderful job, makes for a nice engine…
