Miniature watch tower as a control center?

Some years back I know I saw an idea or plans for a freestanding watch tower, similiar to the the Aristo tower, in which one could store the train power supply and controls for the railroad/
Any help?
Thanks, Bob

It would have to be an awfully small power supply. It might make more sense to keep the 110 VAC to low voltage DC supply inside the house and run heavy wire outside to throttle. LGB made a small one and Aristo had one, not sure if it is still in production. The throttle alone would probably fit in an Aristo tower. Only their older stilt-style tower has a removable roof.

Do you plan on any type of operation, or do you simply want to let a single train run? If you plan any type of operating you should consider remote control. RCS and Aristo both make track power throttles that can feature wireless controller. I use the Aristo TE with the power supply and receiver/throttle inside when I’m not running steam or battery power.

Guess I should have been more clear. The control building was modeled after the Aristo watch tower, just much bigger. About a 3x4 foot base mounted up on top of a 6x6 PT post about 3 feet out of the ground. Then had windows all around with one side of the windows opening to give access. Hope this helps, Bob

Here’s the Aristo 7109:

Dear Bob Rice,

Have you asked this question on any of the “Grand Scale” forums?

The dimensions that you describe put your model tower in the 1:5 scale range, which is 2.4" to the foot.

In that scale standard track would be around 11" gauge, and 3’ narrow gauge track would be around 7". That’s pretty big!

Hope you get your answer.

Sincerely,
