I need a mini palm belt sander and was looking at the one offered by Micro Lux. Whoa! $77 for the sander…ok I can go for that…BUT another $100 to make it run?? I don’t think so…or did I miss something?? Somebody please recommend one that I can get that doesn’t need more accessories to make it run than the sander itself.

I had similar concerns, but ended up getting several of these tools. The little belt sander has been used a lot and I really like it. I also got the little drill and it has been just as useful. It is so nice to have a SLOW speed drill. Then I bought their little scroll saw. Another nice one!
Yes, they are not cheap, but I’ve been extremely pleased with the performance of these. I got the larger transformer and an extension cord to give me a bit more range. These really are my most used power tools.
Ouch! $200 is just a little out of my budget right now

Good tools are an investment…well worth saving for…I wore one of those belt sanders OUT and had to get another! They’re that good! I also have the jigsaw and drill, which are indispensible…and there’s a planer too!
I also have those tool I love the belt and plam sander jig saw,drill andthe bigger transformer. you will luv them they are used by me alot
I’ve had a Sears combination bench sander with 1" belt for years. I use the belt sander a lot for trimming wood to size using a fine belt. It works with brass too.
My bad Warren, completely missed palm… yep, those speciality tools will cost a pretty penny. But, it might last you 10 years. Might be worth the trouble to get the right tool for the right job!

And, if you work with any styrene, you won’t melt it with these tools…well, you can if you turn it up high enough, but it does have a nice slow speed that’s great for working with plastic.
