Got another project in work.
Well this is timely. I’m planning something very similar for my Port Orford terminal except it will utilize tank cars that will be switched in and out. It will be a fueling station for bunker C for the steam engines. I need to design a fueling ramp similar to what you’ve got that’ll fit into about a 2" width so the tank cars can be hooked up on one track to fuel the engines on the other. I’m still thinking about its design and details. Do you have a more detailed photo of yours? I need some ideas.
Very nice job by the way. A great and very interesting creation to utilize a couple of old tank cars.
heck this build out. I used his as an idea for mine.http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=13469
Wow. Nice to think I inspired someone. And, good job! It’s very distinctive.
I told ya awhile back I was going to plagiarize a bit. Darn Plastruct fittings and stuff hurt my butt oh I mean my wallet and after all that I forgoat two things. Trying to see if they do cash-will call as I live about 15-20 miles from them. Not done yet. gotta plumb oil tanks and sand towers, wire light tower and of course solar lighting…
The Miller Brothers (John & Mike) should have a layout design drawing( to document track laying that is being as we type) done shortly (Thanks to the one and only Adela. Director of Construction). Then we can start to figure out where all the stuff I have built gets thrown out in the yard. Will post drawing at a later date if John doesn’t do it first. But then again he doesn’t have a body count for buildings and actual sizes. LOL.
I wish I had a home for this near the engine shed, but I believe its going to end up somewhere near the junction leading to the El Patron Mining District.
Mike,
If you don’t mind my asking, what did you use for the grating on the walkways?
Bob C.
Bob C. The platform is covered with double diamond plate sheets from JTT Miniatures. Most affordable compared to Plastruct or Evergreen.
Thanks for the info Mike, new bookmark added.

Nice looking fuel service, mike…
Nice…:)…
Dammit, I need to find a place for that. You should post the completed photo.
Andy,
That would look good with your sand service on the modular layout. Nice work, Mike.

Ric, yeah, it would, but I don’t think Mike wants to give it up…

My brother John Miller, the Rail Master, would not be pleased with me.
Could we just borrow it for two or three weekend shows and then the month of December? We’ll give him full credit and I’ll throw in a club membership, but he has to pay the shipping and insurance back and forth. Its a good deal, really.
