Todd, I think I am gonna leave them in place except for maybe a few and use styrofoam insulation sheeting (blue stuff) and try my hand at carving some stone for a rock wall…I cant find the sintra board anywhere. They just look at me like I’m stupid at Lowe’s… So where do ya get it besides ordering online?..

I didn’t have any luck finding it in the stores either, so I ordered it from Amazon. 4 2’x4’ sheets.
If you have any sign shops around, they may carry it.
The stupid person at Lowe’s is not you, believe me.
A local sign shop was more than happy to give me a big scrap of sintra just on a phone call. It’s hard, the real meaning of hard, and I found it difficult to work with. I may try again, but it’s expensive, as you no doubt found out, and obviously I don’t have the right carving tools for it. This was during the challenge and I didn’t have time to learn how to cut and carve this stuff.
If you don’t mind, I will follow along what you do with the sintra. There’s some posts out there and Dave uses it and Ray, but I have limited time and focus for a new skill at the moment so I’ll be a freeloader!
Thanks John follow along … I haven’t picked any up yet. I wil as soon as I find some around here…
Small roof panels ready to install. I trimmed the rough edges that will be exposed with cedar strips to hide the plywood edge…
Supports added to the middle of the addition.
I will post some more pics later of the roof installed. I also plan on changing out the hinges on the windows too with brass hinges that I posted ealier…
I have all the siding both board & batten and the clapboard siding done… Also the roof is permanently installed on the addition end awaiting to be shingled…
Last one is the interior showing the post and beams… I am not sure how i will finish the outside. I would like a rustic look …light gray or something … This is cedar so I may use some kind of a wash on it… Thanks for looking…
Hot dang, that is really looking good Travis. Might be a little tough getting the beams and joist for the floors in at this point, but we all have our own way of things.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
That is looking really good Travis. Keep it up.
Chris
Travis,
Your mill project is beautiful! Is it to go outdoors? It would be a shame to have it deteriorate in a couple of years. Excellent work.
Beautiful travis
I’d seriously consider cutting in a great big double door on one of the sides and I’d keep the doors open at all times to show off that spectacular interior framing…too good to hide if you ask me.
I apologise to Greg for not reading completely through to find that it was posted in the wrong spot.
I don’t mind admitting I am out of line. I don’t mind admitting when I have made a big deal out of nothing. With Greg I clearly did.
I will shut up now. It’s clear what this thread has become including by me. Once again the priahnas have smelt blood.
