There was a mystery meeting at the hotel in Silver Onyx today.
There were representatives from the railroad and some people no one recognized. What are they up to?

Did they have napkins in their pockets and their thinking caps on?
After some health issues and talks that went on and on, the flat car for this project has been selected.
A special tool was created for this project.
As many are sailing along with their projects the tortoise is barely moving. Maybe I will get this project done.
After some of the townspeople met with the railroad and city officials they reached an agreement.
The railroad agreed to give up an old flatcar. The flatcar was originally used to haul in a large power generator to supply the town with power.
It was much heavier than weight limits and didn’t fare too well.
The railroad will put it back together and then the town’s leaders will put it to use. But what are they going to do with it?
Here’s how the weatherbeaten car is being built!
After “borrowing” my wife’s microwave steamer this is how the sideboards for the flatcar looked. Some of that pine is really hard! But nobody’s perfect!
I had thought along that line, but it looked like work…
Nice curve.

AHHHH…a sway backed scoliotic build ala John Allen and the Gorre and Daphetid. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

I think many of us are still in the dark… Just what are they up to ???
I like your method of bending the sills for the car!
As Doc Tom said, John Allen tribute car moved forward!
I also took time to start experimenting with wheel placement.
Nice work Doug. I like where this is going.
Cool will it also be carrying a overtly portly gentleman sporting a huge sombrero? I remember that being a feature of Allen’s sagging cars.
thats cool
Certainly gave me a “start!”
I just glued mine up and had to go check that I had the end beams and bolsters going in the right places.

Maybe some inspiration:
Cool. The “Wizard of Monterey” would be very proud of your work…and I like it too.
Doc Tom
Here’s a look through the “retrospectoscope” at one of the original “sway back” models on John Allen’s G&D. Nice to be seeing it done again.
Keep up the good work!
Doc Tom
When I bent the frames of my swayback boxcars, I set them in the laundry tub, with the frame ends on bricks. Then I set a brick in the middle and did a load of laundry. With the hot soapy water, and then the cold rinse water running over the frames, they bent up real nice.
I cant wait to see where this project goes.
This was the El Jeffe I was thinking of.
