This is the mine my son and i visited last summer, this is what we are going to build

Will build a tunnel for my mainline to go through and have a turnout going to the mine with a mine shack, already have mine sign from Del at G-scale graphics, plastic base and a whole bunch of styrafoam blocks I got from a Hospital, he was throwing them away and I said I could find a use for them

Kinda’ irritatin’, ain’t it, Tom, tryin ta post them pix? I never know whether my pics are going to post here or not, anymore, either. Here’s hoping we can all figure it out. Have a good experience with your build, which I’m looking forward to seeing.

Don’t make it harder than it is.

Sorry been real busy because of cold have not been able to work in garage, glue will not dry, went to Home Depot and got that styrafoam glue, started laying out where RR siding will go, got all the styrafoam from a customer that was throwing it away, he will appreciate pics when i am done, he saved them for me for 2 months

my 2 mainlines will go under tunnel, there will be a siding for mine cars to go into mine entrance, layed it out with permanent marker so we can do the sides, then start on top

getting it all straightened out and glueing the tunnel and siding for mine

Now we wait for glue to dry before we start to put more on top

my helper was pleased he likes building things with legos, now he gets some real blocks to play with, he is going to shape mountian and mine entrance, i have a sign already from Del at G-scale graphics that we will put up, once all built and shaped, we will paint all blocks and plastic base,then use some spray paint to make it look more real, he has some mining rocks he got for Christmas, he will use those for laying around mine entrance and to put in his RR cars, he is my son Cody

Got the mountian all glued and done, now its time for master turkey carver to make it look kinda like a mountian, i did research lots of ways to shape styrafoam and since i have used an electric knife to carve up a lot of fish i raided our drawer for the electric knife and will try my hand at carving styrafoam

you can see mine tunnel to the right and main tunnel for mainlines

started on mine building with glueing some window frames, had some cedar fence boards around and cut them real small to make window frames, with box cutters, will also use same fence boards for entrances to mine tunnel and mainline tunnel

and started glueing building frame
