Micromark Sale

Well, looks like Micromark is having a nice sale - up to some percent off on lots of neat items.

I see they have the riveter on sale. Anyone use that? I’ve been looking at that for awhile, but just not sure if I really like rivets all that much.

I think the riveter makes only HO and O sized rivets…which may be too small and too close together.

Bruce,

Big problem with rivets: hard to resist the counting.

Well, I guess if you’re putting them in…it would be hard not to count them.

Though come to think of it, when I was doing my boxcars I didn’t. I just printed out a scale picture and used that as a guide line to place the rivets.

Warren, in 1:20, the embossing set would produce rivets anywhere from .2 inches…on up to 1". You’re right, they are a tad small on the low end, but a 1" rivet might be ideal.

I've got one of those "riveters". Really just a lightweight press. However, for embossed rivets, it is easy to turn a punch and die for a larger rivet, in a lathe. And, of course you can space them any distance you wish.
